Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of an item will be available at the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it will be improved after the reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. item upgrader is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.
You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs to be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When a player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage, as it can make the item more expensive if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can use up many resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is very valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of its non-upgraded version.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item, it has the chance to fail. If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items might require different upgrades than regular gear. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Players will still have to bring each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade requires the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
